XLive Streaming Service: Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has announced that the livestreaming feature will soon be available only to premium subscribers. According to this new update, normal users will not be able to livestream on X. However, X has not yet clarified when this change will be implemented, but they said that it will happen soon.

X’s official live profile released a post saying that soon, only premium subscribers will be able to livestream (live video stream) on X. This includes going live from an encoder with X integration. Upgrade to premium to continue live. Apart from this, users will no longer be able to start livestreams on encoder platforms with X integration.

X will be the first such platform

It is worth noting that livestreaming on other social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok does not require any premium subscription. After this change, X will become the only platform that demands a premium subscription for livestreaming.

Elon Musk has made several major changes since acquiring X in 2022, including ending the old verified program, changing the company’s name from Twitter to X, and removing the feature of blocking accounts. But, with this new update, by putting features like livestreaming behind a premium subscription, X is encouraging users to subscribe.

X’s premium subscription starts at Rs 215 per month on the web and goes up to Rs 1,133 for the Premium+ tier. With this change, the adoption rate of X’s premium subscription is expected to increase. X’s move will affect users who use livestreaming to share their thoughts or interact live with their followers. Now, they will have to pay for the premium subscription, which may require some users to move to other platforms.
